This figure measures the number of individuals who filed for unemployment insurance for the first time, during the previous week. A higher than expected figure has a negative impact on the USD, while a lower than expected figure will have a positive impact on the USD.

New Home Sales (MoM)
The figure quantifies the number of newly constructed residential buildings that have confirmed buyers, during the previous month. It is a good indicator of economic health of the US economy, as an increase in home sales is usually an indicator of an increase in consumer spending power.
